Wickatunk Track Club meets once a week for regular group runs. You can find us on Saturday mornings at the old Marlboro Airport*. Formerly a working airport, it is now owned by Mounth County Park System and known as Deep Run Recreation Area. It serves us well as a place to meet with a nice parking area and easy acess to the Henry Hudson Trail. As it is currently undeveloped land, with the crumbling, overgrown former runway and still-standing “ruins” of the old airplane hangers (some were torn down over the summer of 2012), it is just obsure enough with subtle charm and mystique, to be the perfect fit for us.
From April to October we also meet Tuesday nights for speed workouts. Check our Events Calendar for exact dates and times.
Meeting time and distance of our runs varies from week to week and season to season. If you would like to join us, it’s best to contact us through email or join our Facebook Group. Don’t be shy, we’d love to have you! All paces welcome.
*There is quiet a bit of history, controversy and scandal attached to this former air field. And there is a rather sad story that ultimately led to the closing of “The friendliest little airport in NJ!” If you are interested in learning about it check this out.
